Motorhome & Campervan Hire in West Sussex

Camperfun hires motorhomes and campervans to customers across West Sussex. We are a family-run company based in Brighton & Hove, just over the county line, with a fleet of 2 to 7 berth vehicles from £115 a day. Vehicles are collected from us in Brighton, which is a straightforward run along the A27 from most of the county.

Getting to us from West Sussex

The A27 is the spine of this. Worthing is around twenty-five minutes away, Arundel and Littlehampton roughly forty, and Chichester about an hour depending on traffic through the Arundel stretch. From Horsham and the north of the county the A23 down to Brighton is usually the quicker route. Crawley, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill are all comfortable drives.

What West Sussex gives you

The western South Downs are quieter than the Brighton end and, to a lot of people, better for it. The country around Midhurst, Petworth and the Rother valley is genuinely rural, and the South Downs Way runs the whole way through if you are walking or cycling part of a trip.

On the coast, Chichester Harbour is one of the largest natural harbours in the country and a good reason to base yourself in the west for a few days. The Witterings have proper sandy beaches, Bosham is worth the detour, and Pagham Harbour is a serious birdwatching site. Inland, Arundel Castle, Petworth House, Goodwood and Amberley are all within easy reach of one another.

Onward from the west

West Sussex is a natural jumping-off point if you are heading further west. The New Forest is about two hours from Chichester, and from there you are into Dorset, the Jurassic Coast and eventually the West Country. Portsmouth is close enough to make an Isle of Wight crossing practical, and the ferry links from there open up longer trips.

Choosing a vehicle

Check the berth count and the number of seatbelted travelling seats separately, because they often differ. The travelling seats are the binding constraint if you are a full group. Couples generally take the 2 and 4 berth vehicles, which handle the lanes around Midhurst and Petworth more comfortably. Families tend to want the 5, 6 and 7 berth motorhomes for the fixed beds and storage.
